Different points of view

There are such people that say they had the best years in their lives at the university because they were luck y to lie at the dormitory. They say they never had such a great time and they never had so much fun as they had while they were living there. There are always people around you and there are always people to talk to and people to joke with and people to do your task with. There is no way for one to feel lonely when at dormitory and there is no way for one to get bored with this life. Though, in case you are a dormitory liver you know how it feels when you have no place to hide and when there are people around you twenty-four hours a day. Sometimes it save and sometimes it irritates and all you need is silence and peace but you can’t find nor that silence nor that peace. Though, I guess those silent desires come to people once a month and the desire for other people next to you is a common and permanent one and that is why people are so happy about they were living at the dormitory.

Just a place for sleep

There are people that never come to the dormitory and they have nothing to do with the life in it. They are people that never have friends at dormitory and no one ever knows a lot about them and no one knows who they are and where they are from and where t they are going and so on and so forth. They have no problems with their roommates because they don’t really care about them. All they need is place to sleep from time to time and they don’t care what people do while he or she is not at dormitory and so on. They are people that are strangers for others but they don’t care about it also. They don’t care what other people think about them and they wouldn’t even care if others would believe them to be freaks or something. I say they are the perfect neighbors. They never need something of you and they are never complaining and they are not bothering about tidiness of room and they are never there and you feel free and at ease. They are perfect roommates and so let them wander around this world and come for night only.

hould corporations provide DORMITORIES to its employees?

In popular perception, dormitories seem a choice for students and backpackers. However, companies have been in the past offering dormitory accommodation to its employees. And in the current economic situation, when corporate greed is increasingly becoming a point of debate and discussion, it is timely to ask whether corporations should consider the welfare of their employees more and re-introduce dormitory accommodation.

In the US, it used to be fairly common practice which has become fairly outdated. In the Netherlands, the practice has been outlawed – and the reason being touted for that is hypocritical if not ridiculous. Using a reverse logic, it was argued that giving dorm accommodation to employees might mean putting them under more hardship when they are out of work and have to therefore simultaneously search for a living space! In Japan, it does continue to be a corporate practice.

However, in another dimension to the practice of providing dorm accommodation by employers, railway workers in eastern china were provided such inadequate dorm accommodation that recently, at least nine workers died as a result of a collapsed dorm in Jiangsu province. The dormitory labour regime in post-socialist china is being described by academics as symptomatic of the Wal-martization of the global toy industry for which china is a hub.

Ngai Pun and Xiaomin Yu, two researchers at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in a 2008 study points out that the influence of Wal-Mart’s bargain-driven business model on the dormitory labour regime in China has changed its position in the international division of labour, turning the country into the ‘world’s workshop’.

A sleeping Place

The dormitory is the place where you sleep. According to the figures counted by the scientists the third part of the life we spend for sleeping that’s why the design of this room is particulary important and you shoul pay attension on the interior of it.
Some people think that the dormitory is a place for sleeping only. In this case you should choose a variant with a big comfortable bed in the middle of the room and some cupboards of light tone to keep there the bed clothes and other staff. The wall pepers should be of  light and warm colours such as yellow, pink, peachy, orange in order to make your dreams pieceful.
For others it is a place where they relax or spend time with their girl- or boy-friends. Then it would be better to decorate the dormitory  in a  more sophisticated way. A TV-set could be placed opposite the bed, a couple of  bed-side cabinets will also be useful. The wall-papers could be of every colour imaginable – red, violet, bright green are worth a try. Use more decorations – pictures, statues and so on.
Try to develop your imagination but remember that the best design of your dormitory is those which is pleasant and comfortable for you to sleep in.
